Passing on the Management of “Rampoo” Thai Massage in Chiba

Background
Pim-san has been running the Thai massage shop “Rampoo” in Chiba Prefecture for 6–7 years. The shop is popular not only among Japanese customers but also international visitors, earning an excellent reputation.

In March 2024, Pim-san decided to hand over management to his niece, Oi-san, who had been living in Thailand. Oi-san is now responsible for running the shop and currently holds a 1-year Business Manager Visa.

Rabi: Why did you decide to hand over the shop to Oi-san?

Pim-san: At that time, our shop often had more than 10 customers per day, but we didn’t have enough staff to handle everyone. There were times we had to turn customers away. On top of that, I was handling accounting and business planning while also performing massages myself. I was really exhausted and wanted Oi-san to help manage the shop. Oi-san had studied in Japan before, attending a Japanese language school for 2 years and a vocational school for another 2 years. She can read and write Japanese and also has accounting knowledge. Additionally, she has the responsibility of supporting her parents in Thailand. I expected that she could earn an income while helping reduce my workload, so I decided to hand over the shop to her.

Rabi: How did you find our office?

Pim-san: At that time, I didn’t know what visa Oi-san could use to help at the shop. I had no knowledge of visas, so I knew I couldn’t handle it alone. I saw your office’s name in a magazine and decided to call for consultation. That’s when I learned that Oi-san could work under a Business Manager Visa, but I needed to officially transfer the shop to her. That wasn’t a problem at all, since I already wanted Oi-san to manage the shop, so everything went smoothly.

Rabi: What kind of support did you receive from our office?

Pim-san: I visited the office and spoke directly with an administrative scrivener. I received guidance such as submitting a closure notice for the shop under my name, filing a new business registration under Oi-san’s name, and changing the lease agreement to her name. The scrivener prepared a checklist of all necessary documents, and I just had to prepare and submit them. Whenever there were additional questions, I answered them, and if I didn’t understand something, I asked via our Thai staff translator. The visa was issued in about six months.

Rabi: Since Oi-san took over management, what changes have occurred at the shop?

Pim-san: Oi-san now handles all accounting. She also comes up with ideas to attract more customers during slow periods. For example, We ran a campaign to reduce the course fee from 12:00 to 16:00 from 4,000 yen to 3,500 yen or adding new massage courses. She even assists with paying utility bills and purchasing supplies. Thanks to her, I can now focus fully on performing massages.

Ravi: Would you recommend IPPO to others?

Pim-san: Yes. I’ve already recommended the office to others in similar situations. I don’t plan to use any other office in the future, since I successfully obtained the visa here and all my information is already with this office. I plan to continue using your services.

This time, we also tried the 90-minute course at Rampoo. In addition to Pim-san, the regular staff includes massage therapists Maeo-san and Ice-san. Ice-san was our therapist for this session. Although petite, Ice-san is very strong and attentive, frequently asking, “Does it hurt?” which made the experience extremely satisfying. My shoulders felt so much lighter afterward!

All the staff have an impressive professional attitude, constantly refining their skills and consulting with each other about techniques. You can experience authentic Thai massage here. During our session, we even saw Japanese customers rushing in for “just 30 minutes,” which showed the trust people have in this shop, even for a short visit. The prices are reasonable, perhaps even surprisingly affordable. I plan to visit privately next time!

Additionally, the shop has a mascot cat, Balamy-chan, who is very popular with customers. Some people even visit just to see her. If you’re interested, be sure to stop by and experience the shop for yourself!
